Almost everything sold under the OMID name is worn on the head, the face or the hands, and most of it sits in front of the eyes. In the pool and open water that means goggles in four frame families (P1, P2, P2mini and P3), silicone caps with room for long hair, and center-mount snorkels for lap drills. On snow it means V1 and Z1 goggles with frameless spherical lenses, over-the-calf socks in a merino blend and men's gloves insulated with 3M Thinsulate.
The gear is pitched at people who swim or ski often without racing at an elite level. The P1, for example, is meant for daily use, training and competition by non-professional athletes. Children are served by two models, the P2mini for ages 6 to 14 and the Z1 snow goggles, while the head-bracket snorkels and both pairs of gloves come in adult sizes only.
Design Choices That Repeat Across OMID Gear
Lens type is the thread that runs through the goggles. The P2 and P2mini are polarized in every color, the P1 is offered both polarized and with a clear non-polarized lens, and the P3 takes a different route with a smoke tint or a silver mirrored coating. On the snow side, every V1 lens is polarized, and both snow models use a dual-layer lens with an anti-fog coating.
Fit is handled by parts that adjust rather than by a long list of sizes. The P1 comes with nose pieces in three sizes, the P2 tightens with a quick-fit one-touch buckle on an adjustable non-slip silicone strap, and the blue training snorkel sets its head bracket with a button. Caps and SN1 snorkels are one size, and the V1 lens comes off its 8 earth magnets so a second tint can go on in under five seconds.
Between versions of the same model, the frame and lens color change while the build stays put. The P1 is the exception worth knowing about: its clear and gold versions differ in polarization, which changes where they are useful.
How to Read the Numbers and Labels
Snow lenses carry a VLT figure, the share of visible light that passes through. The Pink V1 lens passes 18.89%, close to a fifth, while Silver at 11.77% and Sapphire at 12.39% each pass roughly an eighth. A rider who skis mostly under strong sun leans toward the smaller numbers; someone who often rides in dimmer light gets more from Pink.
Swim lens labels mean different things. Polarized lenses cut glare reflected off a water surface, and on the P2mini they block 99% of intense glare. A mirrored lens, like the silver P3, has a reflective outer coating with UVA/UVB protection. A smoke tint simply darkens the view, and a clear lens leaves light untouched, which suits indoor lanes.
Size labels are short but worth checking. The P3 frame measures 6.97 inches long by 1.93 inches high, the green and royal blue SN1 tubes are 17.72 in long, the black socks come in Medium, and the gloves are offered in Medium (black) and Large (blue). The black and royal blue SN1 snorkels also carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
Who the Range Fits
The strongest match is a swimmer who trains several times a week, moves between an indoor pool and outdoor water, and wants goggles and a snorkel that can be tuned to the face. Parents of children between 6 and 14 get a dedicated goggle frame with super-soft silicone gaskets and a flexible nose bridge.
On the slopes, skiers and snowboarders who wear glasses are well served, since the V1 and Z1 are OTG designs and work with popular helmets. Men who want to use a phone without taking gloves off will find touchscreen microfiber on every finger of both glove models.
If you have long, thick or braided hair, the caps are cut for exactly that, with the extra large white flower cap and the oversized black cap holding the most volume.
Where the OMID Line Stops
The range covers a fairly narrow slice of swim and snow gear. There are no masks, fins or wetsuits, no gloves in women's or children's sizes, and no snow goggles beyond the V1 and Z1. Prescription swim lenses are not offered, so a swimmer who needs corrective lenses in the water will have to look elsewhere.
Some items ask for care that a busy household may not want to give. The socks and gloves are washed by hand and dried on a line, never in the machine dryer. The P3 has changeable lenses, but only the lens already mounted in the frame is in the box.
Caps come in a single size, and the training snorkels with a head bracket are not made for children. A family buying for several ages will usually mix models: the P2mini and SN1 for younger swimmers, the P2 or P1 and a bracket trainer for adults.
